the times puts hockey on the front of its sports section...
The Moores were teammates only once, at Harvard for the 1999-2000 season; Dominic was a freshman, Mark was a senior and Steve a junior. They were all drafted by N.H.L. teams.
It is the teams' only meeting this season. But the main subplot is the first meeting between the Rangers' Dominic Moore and Vancouver right wing Todd Bertuzzi.
Bertuzzi attacked Moore's older brother Steve, who was a forward for the Colorado Avalanche, during a game March 8, 2004.
Bertuzzi was suspended indefinitely by the league the day after the attack. He was reinstated by N.H.L. Commissioner Gary Bettman in August.
Steve Moore sustained broken vertebrae in his neck, cuts on his face and a concussion after Bertuzzi punched him from behind and landed on top of him, driving his head into the ice during a game in Vancouver. Moore has postconcussion syndrome and has not played since.
