talk about a train wreck...

In "Breaking Bonaduce," starting Sunday at 10:30 p.m. on VH1, viewers see Bonaduce and his wife, Gretchen, go through marriage counseling. But even before the series began filming last March, Bonaduce was already back to abusing alcohol.

What unfolds in the show is a harrowing trip to more alcohol, as well as drugs (Vicodin prescribed for a broken hand and, unbelievably, steroids). And then it gets bad.

When Gretchen threatens to divorce him after learning that he has cheated on her, Bonaduce cuts his wrists.

"It hasn't even started airing, but we're both dreading the reaction," Bonaduce admitted.

Which raises the question: Why?
