miami spice's canes preview part II: the running backs...

RB: Tyrone Moss is the incumbent, and a lot of people love the guy, but he’s got a ton to prove to me. He’s still overweight. He missed the Spring with injuries. And he has yet to prove that he is truly a big-time guy.

Derron Thomas gives us an outside running threat—he is a kid who can house it every time he touches it. Unfortunately, he doesn't break enough tackles, and that could prevent him from being an every down back.

George Timmons, a converted DB, can help some in this respect as well—he hit a couple of home runs this Spring. Andrew Johnson could have done the same, but his ACL tear will put him on the shelf for the year.

Over all, Charlie Jones is our best back between the tackles. He's the most reliable of the group and will likely be the best of the bunch this season—he is durable and relentless. Whether he becomes a great running back remains to be seen, and we will need greatness at RB this year to overcome a weaker than normal o-line and first-year starter at QB.

Can we get a mac-fu report on the Canes uni (which I happen to like)? Are they still rocking the bra strap?
