fighting harry report...
ladies and gentlemen, meet harry wolverton:
"fighting harry" is the only kenyon graduate to play major league baseball (mac fu, did any of you kcb types know this?). harry was a third basemen from mt. vernon ohio, the home of ike's diner and ryan's steak house. he's pictured above playing for the 1912 new york highlanders. if only they wore numbers back then i would get a yankees jersey with his number on the back. wolverton for ever.
while we're at it jeff slade was the 11th selection of the 1962 n.b.a. draft, but played only 6 games for the chicago zephyrs in the 1963 season.
