Ricky Ponting hammered an unbeaten 98 off 55 balls as Australia beat New Zealand by 44 runs in Auckland in the first men's Twenty20 international.
Both sides took the field wearing retro uniforms, the Kiwis opting for their cult beige kit of the early 1980s.Hamish Marshall sported a bizarre Afro hairstyle, and other Kiwis wore moustaches.
Supporters' group the Beige Brigade had promised to deliver a crate of beer to the home club of any player sporting a real moustache.
