part one of mac fu's cane's preview...

Roughly ten weeks to go until the season gets kicked off in the OB – Svendeezy and his Wifey will be in attendance, its Mac-Fu’s first game as a Golden Cane, and Young Fu should be just two months from making his/her debut.

Three kinds of ribs on the menu, five hours of pre-game fun, and a packed house will all contribute the crackling excitement that surrounds every ’Canes/’Noles game at the old Bowl. There is even a good chance that a cooler of Mojitos will join the party.

However, there are five things weighing heavily on every ’Canes’ fan’s mind as that glorious day draws closer. As the season progresses we will unveil more of these questions, but for now on to question 1:

Can new OC Rich Olsen and QB Coach Todd Berry reinvigorate a moribund, predictable offense?

All signs this spring point to yes…but the information is spotty. Coach Coker closed practice this Spring to shield the team not only from the prying eyes of the press and their opponents, but also to spare them from criticism by the unforgiving ’Canes fans. All the reports we’ve heard from the players indicate a fresh, dynamic attack that takes advantage of the mobility of Miami’s quarterbacks and the speed of Miami’s wideouts. Expect to see a lot of screens to wide receivers, a lot of three receiver sets (with one back in motion), and multiple tight ends lined up wide. This team will throw to establish the run, rather than vice versa.
