a possible world record opening partnership is brewing in pakistan...

Overnight rain and bad light have delayed India duo Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid's attempt to set a new world record opening partnership.

Sehwag (247) and Dravid (128) had made 403-0 ahead of the start of the final day of the first Test against Pakistan.

They are 10 runs short of the 413 set by India's Vinoo Mankad and Pankaj Roy against New Zealand in 1956.

No play was possible before lunch as a steady drizzle fell and the bad weather is expected to continue all day.
