Movie beauty Scarlett Johansson was so hurt when her idol Patrick Swayze spurned her for praising his performance in Dirty Dancing - she burst into tears.

The Lost In Translation star has vowed never to meet any more heroes, because her encounter with Swayze shocked and disappointed her too much.

She recalls: "I actually ran up to Patrick at a party, and said: 'Hi, it's so nice to meet you. I just wanted you to know I've really liked Dirty Dancing since I was a little girl.'"

But far from being flattered, the movie hunk merely muttered: "That was a long time ago."

Johansson says: "I shrunk into a corner, cried and went home."
