thanks to andre the giant...

for giving me the heads up on this guy:

who, believe it or not, is a reggae super star. if high life weren't so busy litigating in tallahasse he surely would have informed us of this guy's stylings a long time ago. anyway i downloaded some and it's hot. i recomend you all do the same (particularly reggie and mac fu, who would both love this shit, but probably for differenct reasons).

NEW YORK - In the insular, Orthodox Jewish neighborhood of Crown Heights in Brooklyn, members of the Hasidic religious group rarely mingle with outsiders.

So it's understandable that a young Hasidic woman grows alarmed when she happens by an unusual scene — a solemn Hasidic man being photographed by a secular group of people. But the woman breaks out into a smile when she learns the name of the man before the camera.

"Oh, Matisyahu," she says. "Everybody knows who he is."

Well, not yet. But the Hasidic reggae star — yes, reggae star — is gaining fans, respect and attention for his unusual hybrid of music and religion.

I have known about this Guy for a while. I think Babst turned me on to his Jams last summer. We were even going to see him out in Brooklyn one night. He used to Be your typical white boy from Freshchester rocked the Ragga Stylins. Then he found orthodox Judiasm and contined his stylin while being Kosher.
