all art all the time...
THE founder of Britain’s Pop Art movement, Leith-born artist and sculptor Sir Eduardo Paolozzi, died today at the age of 81.
One of the most influential British artists of the 20th century, Sir Eduardo’s works decorate major cities around the world, including Edinburgh.
He rose from humble beginnings in Leith to win worldwide acclaim and a knighthood.
His innovative work, including collages made from images cut from magazines, inspired a generation of artists including Andy Warhol. Tributes were today paid to him as one of Scotland’s greatest ever artists.
