Three days before the playoff game in Pittsburgh, Jets quarterback Chad Pennington, looking pale and feeling woozy, spent the afternoon napping in a dark corner of the team's training room because of a stomach illness.

With Carter questionable, Edwards named Brooks Bollinger, the Jets' No. 3 quarterback, as the backup. Bollinger, a second-year quarterback who has played in only one National Football League game - completing 5 of 9 passes for 60 yards - took snaps with the first-team offense Wednesday.
