high life part two...

he's the hippest guy we know and he's dialed into the scene like no other. ladies and gentlemen, the weekly high life music update:

With The Cure in town on Saturday (well, Randall's Island) with Interpol, The Rapture, and Mogwai this weekend I wish I could list off a hot new goth jam from their latest. While it's not bad, it's no Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me.

That said, here's this week's installment:

The Walkmen - The Rat. Off their sophomore effort Bows & Arrows. This band should get the ink wasted on Interpol and The Rapture. It's not Brittany's "Toxic", but it is one of the best songs of the year.

The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free. I know so little about hip-hop, but this album is unbelievable. Mike Skinner drops a "day in the life" concept album about losing $1000, drugs, getting a girl, getting dumped, and video games. Buyer beware - he's white and British.

And of course, one from the vault - The Cure's Just Like Heaven (1987) off the above-mentioned album. There are 30 better Cure songs, but this really is the perfect pop song. How many high school freshmen's mix tapes do you think this song has graced?

Nice one Cold Filtered. Freddy, you are slacking today. Also, I reviewed your hit numbers. They are not bad - your sight has some major stickyness. People are on for 30mins at a clip.
